If you are a resident of Davenport, Iowa, and have an alarm system, or you own a business in Davenport, Iowa, and have an alarm system, it needs to be registered with the City of Davenport. There is no fee for registration. Visit the City of Davenport’s website to submit an application.

This registration process has been in effect in Davenport, Iowa since 2012. On August 22, 2012, the Davenport, IA City Council adopted a revision to Chapter 5.06 Police and Fire Alarm Systems. All alarm users who have more than three police and/or fire alarms in any consecutive twelve-month period shall be deemed to have committed a municipal infraction. The fourth violation and any subsequent violations within the same twelve month period shall be deemed as violations.

While this ordinance has already been in place, the revision goes in effective October 1, 2012. At that time, the count for false alarms will be reset to zero and the count for police and/or fire alarms in any consecutive twelve month period will begin. The civil penalty for the first offense is $75.00 and $150.00 for each repeat offense. After this date, all alarm systems need to be registered in Davenport, Iowa.
